Worship

What is worship?

When you live the OPWP way, worship is respectfully, lovingly reverencing God. Our Father is looking for true worshippers. Take a moment to examine your worship life. Does that mean a perfect worshipper? Such a person doesn't exist. Even on our best days, from the highest in the land to the lowest, even when we have put forward our best efforts, we are still in need Christ Jesus to intercede for us. True worship goes beyond attending religious services, memorizing scripture, or performing acts of charity through community outreach. True worship means recognizing and accepting our total reliance on God. It involves a deep, deep gratitude that permeates our spirit.

Living the OPWP way means, as a true worshipper, we thank Him for our daily provision and trust that during our best or worst days, He has us in His care.

Is worship only about attending church?

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them. (MAT 18:20)

Can I worship by myself?

My mouth is filled with your praise, and with your glory all the day.

How do I know if I'm worshipping in the Spirit?

I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (ROM 12:1-2)

Can I mix and match practices and worship as other religions do?

And Jesus answered him, “It is written, “‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and him only shall you serve.’” (Luke 4:8)
